It wasn't a priority at home or in school. It's OK. Most adults are in this same spot wondering what they missed.

Most parents and adults agree that children of all ages should be taught about money and investing. Yet, financial literacy in the United States and Internationally are rarely given the tools they need to succeed financially.

The main problem is that so many parents are struggling financially , they don't take the time to teach their kids about money AND they don't know how to teach them.

It's been said that less than 10% of all high school graduates learn about money in school and even less learn about money at home. And even though it's been said that most economic teachers in high school work it into their curriculum in some way.

But what does that really mean? What are the lucky ones really learning? How to write a check (yes, that's useful), how to budget (budgets don't work generally), maybe how money travels around the world (interesting, but not particularly useful). Let me add here that most TEACHERS don't understand money either. And you want those teachers teaching YOUR kids how to save, how to invest in assets that produce passive income, about the powerful Three Pillars of Wealth: business, real estate and stocks?

Financial freedom is an illusive, but desired, state of being, for a large percentage of the world's population. But for the most part, they honestly don't have a clue how to create it.

Financial literacy has been lumped into the 'elective' category but it should be one of the primary life skills we teach kids and teens in school and at home. Learning about money, both personal money management skills and business money management skills are some of the most valuable lessons your children can learn.

They are taught to memorize facts and figures that generally make no difference in their ultimate success in life. The big question is...WHY is how to become financially free not taught in schools everywhere? It's time that we put kids and money in the same room so they learn how it works BEFORE they move out and have to learn the hard way.

Remember, becoming financially free is not about having lots of money. It's about creating the financial resources you want and need to live the lifestyle that provides enjoyment, purpose and passion for YOU!

Teaching kids about money, giving kids allowances, inspiring them to start businesses and instilling the thoughts, beliefs, attitudes and habits of wealthy people must start when they are young. This is when they are forming their views of the world and are learning what is normal and natural from those around them (parents, teachers, media). It is your number one job if you are a parent, to make sure your kids learn how to manage and invest money wisely so they will be successful when they move out (i.e., they don't have to move back in!)
